ABOUT BREATHE

Launching at St. Patrick’s Festival 2022, the Breathe Roadshow is a series of national community based mini festivals focused on wellness and resilience for individuals, communities and our planet using battery technology, renewably powered, with best environmental practice for all our needs.

Following the launch, Breathe will take to the road on a nationwide, renewably powered journey traveling to rural cities and communities with the aim of empowering diverse Irish communities with agency and the resources necessary to tackle climate change. The aim is to create a collaborative network of Irish communities and organisations working together to develop creative approaches to tackle these issues.

There will be a range of activities to inspire community led climate and biodiversity action through workshops and conversations with community members and stakeholders. We will also have group yoga, fitness and meditation sessions for both young and old, again with local instructors and facilitators everywhere we go.  At the heart of each local event, is a facilitated conversation with the local community with Connect The Dots, in which we explore how they plan to come together to tackle the challenges they face. This will become a roadmap, which is used to action each community’s decisions and their pathway forward. The roadshow is designed to lay the groundwork to begin building a national network of action based communities. Breathe will be working to connect each community and to also connect the ever increasing network of communities in Ireland.

We have built the framework for the Breathe Roadshow upon the Strand 1 Community Climate Action Programme, which is a funding initiative from the Dept of Environment, Climate and Communications  to assist in building low carbon communities in a considered and structured way. This funding stream opens in March, exact date TBC.

With this in mind we are looking for community groups from around the country who are interested in bringing the Breathe Roadshow to their area and to help them apply to this funding stream. We bring along all the infrastructure needed for a mini festival type event and work with you on getting local instructors, facilitators, artists, entertainers and climate action leaders involved. Most importantly, we will assist each community in completing the Community Climate Action Programme funding applications every step of the way.
